Conceptual Explanations

States of Matter:
From this concept we hope that students will learn how to identify different states of matter and the ways that they can transform into each other. For example, student should learn how to identify a liquid from a solid but have the knowledge that some liquids can become solids and vice versa.

The Water Cycle:
From this concept we hope that students will learn what is involved in the water cycle like oceans and rain, as well as how those different aspects work together through transformation of different states of matter.

Basic Atoms:
From this concept we hope that students will learn the structure of a basic atom as well as that atoms are all around them including in water.

Natural Earth Materials vs. Manufactured Materials:
From this concept we hope that students will be able to tell the difference between natural earth materials and manufactured earth materials. We also hope that they will learn how the two have an impact on one another. For example, some manufactured materials can harm our vital natural earth materials.
